Organiser's Description
EVENT DESCRIPTION
The Quillen 100 is a unique cycling series around the track at Bristol Motor Speedway, a NASCAR race venue since 1961, commonly known as "The World's Fastest Half-Mile." We offer four exhilarating events throughout the race day. The original team-based Quillen 100 relay race, a 1 Mile Run/Walk, and 800m Kids Fun Run, and lastly our beautiful scenic ride. The events are powered by medical students at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine and are timed by Race Day Events. The Quillen 100 aims to positively impact Northeast Tennessee and the surrounding Appalachian region by promoting cardiovascular health and exercise through education and engagement. ETSU Health's Quillen 100 Race (Team Relay) each team has its own pit, exchanges are made on pit road, and the winners are crowned in Victory Lane.
Our 1 Mille Run/Walk is open to all age groups, and our 800m Fun Run is geared more toward kids. Both races will be held on the track with a photo finish in Victory Lane!
The Quillen 100 Scenic Ride is a 15-, 31-, or 62-mile ride around some of the best views East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia have to offer. Ride through the countryside to South Holston Lake and up and down the rolling mountains surrounding Bristol. All routes will take you from the start line outside Bristol Motor Speedway to the finish line on the race track with aid stations provided periodically along the course.
All registration proceeds for each event and individual donations go directly to Speedway Children's Charity. Learn more about the ways they improve the lives of children across the country here: https://www.speedwaycharities.org.
