The Running Dead 5K Fun Run

Running Dead 5K Fun Run Date: Saturday October 19, 2024Location: Civic Center/ City Hall | 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City, CACheck-In: 8 am | Race Begins: 9 am 
They’re back! The Zombies are hungry and out for your flags! Join us this October as we run and dodge our way to the finish line at the Running Dead 5k Fun Run & Walk. This fun community event is a great way to get friends and family active while also celebrating the Halloween holiday. Award medals are handed out to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of each registration category broken down by age group and gender Youth Ages 12 & Under, Ages 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+). We will also have awesome prize raffles for participants after finishing the race, with a special raffle held for those who survive the Zombie challenge.
Zombie Challenge:All registrants can opt into this challenge by picking up a pair of flags at the main event area. The Union City Youth Commission will be spread out at select locations along the race trail dressed as Zombies, and they will be out to get your flag. Those who finish the race with at least 1 flag left on their hip will be entered into a special raffle to win a cool Halloween themed prize.
A limited amount of race shirts will be available on the day of the race. Make sure to get there on time to purchase.
* All pre-registrations for the race will be closed on October 18 by 4:30pm, however, we will be taking walk-up registrations on the day of the race starting at 8am October 19. Please come early! The race will go on rain or shine!

Race Shirts are not included in the registration fee. Race shirts can be purchase as a add on by September 27, 2024.
