Join us for the 20th Annual Sparta Education Foundation Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 26th, 2026, in the picturesque town of Sparta, Sussex! This festive event features a 5K Run/Walk and a fun-filled 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, making it perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Starting and ending at the local favorite Krogh's Restaurant & Brew Pub, participants will enjoy a USATF certified out-and-back course while supporting a noble cause.
As you trot along, you'll be contributing to innovative educational grants that enhance the learning experiences in Sparta Township's public schools. Every participant will receive a t-shirt (while supplies last), and there are exciting awards for the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, including youth medals. This year, we're thrilled to introduce chip timing, ensuring your official finish time is based on when you start the race. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to celebrate community spirit while promoting educational excellence!

Join us November 26th to celebrate the 20th Annual running of the Sparta Education Foundation Turkey Trot, presented by Krogh's. When you participate in the Turkey Trot, you support innovative educational grants made by the Sparta Education Foundation, whose mission is to promote educational excellence in Sparta Townships public schools.
The event is a 5K Run/Walk and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. Awards will be given to finishers by age group (see below) including youth age group medals. All participants receive a t-shirt, while supplies last.
Awards for Top three (3) Male and Female finishers Overall followed by the Top three (3) M/F in the following Age categories: 5 and under, 6-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, and so on until 80+
The course is an out and back USATF certified course starting and ending at Kroghs Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta, NJ 07871.
NEW THIS YEAR!! AFTER MANY (MANY!) REQUESTS, WE ARE MOVING TO CHIP TIME. THIS MEANS THAT YOUR OFFICIAL FINISH TIME IS NOW BASED ON THE TIME YOU OFFICIALLY START THE RACE, NOT WHEN THE GUN GOES OFF!
The Turkey Trot is a charity event for the Sparta Education Foundation; your support of the helps to fuel our mission.
There will be no refunds if this event is canceled due to reasons beyond our control.
