Organiser's Description
The Summer Solstice Ultra Relay is excited to announce it will be back for year #7 Special Thanks to DOGGETTVILLE FARMS for allowing us to put on this event again this year. This years event is sponsored by In Between Seasons Coaching, LLC. www.inbetweenseasonscoaching.com [http://www.inbetweenseasonscoaching.com]
As in the past this event is anything and everything you are looking for. The beauty of this event is the way it was set up. The 1 mile course through Doggettville Farm will be open from Sunrise to Sunset (6:02am - 8:39). You have the ability to come and run ALL day or come out whenever fits in your schedule. You can run by yourself or with a team/family. This event is set up as a laid back way for us to come together in fellowship for ALL LEVELS of runners. Some may come out and look to run over 50 miles others may come out with their family and run under 10 miles. You also may come and go as you please. We had someone start the day and run the morning, go home and take a NAP, and then come back and finish the day with us.
We will track all laps completed (on the honor system- there is no official race timing for this event) at at the end of the day, I will post the total miles completed by your team/family and the collective participants which will provide the total miles run for the cause!!
When signing up please sign up as an individual and at the event let us know who is part of your family or team.
As in the past we ask you consider making a donation to our charity partner or asking those around you to sponsor the miles you completed. No matter what "your" WHY is and whom you may be running/walking for, we have found is that by asking someone to sponsor each mile you complete, you will always find a way to do 1 more mile and raise a few more dollars in the process. This year all proceeds (minus our few expenses) for the event will benefit AuthoraCare Collective. Checks can be made out to Authoracare Collective and can be brought to the event. We will have a way to donate at the venue as well. More details to come.
To keep costs low this event will be mostly SELF SUPPORTED when it comes to hydration and nutrition. We will have water and snacks on hand and a griddle.
Can't wait to run/walk a few miles with you!!
