Event summary
Tuesday evenings at 6 PM, we gather at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park for high-intensity interval training, tailored to enhance your leg speed. On Thursday mornings at 5:30 AM, meet us at Rillito Sports Fields for stamina-building sessions that will prepare you for any race distance. Donβt forget to arrive 10-15 minutes early to warm up and bring along essential gear like a water bottle, a running watch, and a headlamp for those shorter days as the season progresses. Whether youβre a seasoned runner or just starting out, The Workout Group is the perfect place to connect, grow, and run together!
Organiser's Description
Our goal for this community is to create a positive and safe environment for you to run your best. Led by a team of RRCA-certified running coaches, The Workout Group meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and evenings from August through May. Our Tuesday workouts include a variety of higher intensity intervals for building leg speed, while Thursday's workouts include stamina building sessions.
* Tuesday & Thursday Evening Workouts: Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, 6 PM
* Tuesday & Thursday Morning Workouts: Rillito Sports Fields, 5:30 AM
* We ask that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to get in some kind of warm-up activity before the workout.
Recommended gear:
* Water bottle: A hand-held to carry during the hotter runs, or bottle to stash in the car for before and after run hydration.
* Watch: Some workouts are time based and some are paced based. Either way, it's nice to keep track on a running watch.
* Head lamp: Starting in September the days get shorter and shorter. Having a head lamp to light the way makes for a safer and more enjoyable run.
* Towel: Bring a towel for the car. Sitting in your own sweat on the drive home from a workout is not comfortable. Also, we may get to permission to jump in the TRFC pool every now and then.
