Join us for the Thunderbolt 5k and 1 Mile Walk on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Millville, Cumberland! This exciting event supports the Millville Army Airfield Museum, a historic site dedicated to preserving the legacy of America's first defense airport. Participants can choose to run or walk while celebrating Flag Day in a patriotic atmosphere—so don your best red, white, and blue or military uniform!
After the race, enjoy a vibrant post-race reception next door at Glasstown Brewing Company, complete with music during an open mic session starting around 11:30 AM. Food trucks will be on site to satisfy your cravings, and participants will receive fantastic swag including finisher medals, awards for top finishers, and even a complimentary beer for those 21 and over. Plus, $1 from each beer sold during the event will also be donated to the museum. Don’t miss this chance to honor the brave individuals who trained at Millville while having a blast with the community!

THE MILLVILLE ARMY AIR FIELD MUSEUM (MAAFM) PRESERVES THE HISTORY OF THE MILLVILLE ARMY AIR FIELD, MILLVILLE, NJ, WHICH WAS DEDICATED BY THE U.S. WAR DEPARTMENT IN 1941 AS AMERICAS FIRST DEFENSE AIRPORT. DURING ITS FOUR-YEAR EXISTENCE, MORE THAN 10,000 MEN AND WOMEN SERVED HERE, WITH 1,500 PILOTS RECEIVING ADVANCED FIGHTER TRAINING IN P-47 THUNDERBOLT AND P-40 WARHAWK FIGHTER PLANES. THE MUSEUM HONORS THE MEMORY OF 14 PILOTS WHO DIED WHILE TRAINING AT MILLVILLE. THE MUSEUMS MISSION FOCUSES ON PRESERVATION, EDUCATION AND HONOR.
