ABOUT THE TRAILBREAKER

The Trailbreaker is Waukesha's homegrown running event and has been held annually since 1993. This Waukesha tradition initially consisted of a Marathon, Half-Marathon, 5K Run & 2 Mile Walk. The Trailbreaker originally was the brainchild of three running colleagues. Since 2009, the Park Foundation of Waukesha [http://www.parkfoundationofwaukesha.com/], Inc. (PFW Inc.), has organized and hosted this annual event as a fundraiser for the enhancement of city parks, trails, recreation programs and the urban forest.

In 2023, Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC [https://runsignup.com/w/SilverCircleSportsEvents] (SCSE) signed a long-term agreement with the Park Foundation of Waukesha, Inc. to take over all responsibilities for the Trailbreaker Marathon.

Over $200,000 has been generated and re-invested with the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department to "make Waukesha a better place to live, work and play".
