Participants will kick off the event with a scenic 2.5-mile paddle down the beautiful Namekagon River, followed by a brisk 5K run from Trout Run Landing to the Mosquito Brook CAMBA Trailhead. The adventure continues with a 9-mile bike ride, looping through the picturesque trails of Makwa and Gravel Pit before returning to the trailhead. Whether you choose to compete solo or team up in a tandem class, this self-supported race promises a fun and friendly atmosphere, limited to just 30 boats. Join us for a memorable day of camaraderie and outdoor excitement!

The 1st year of the Tricky Trout Paddle Triathlon!
Taking place around the Phipps Flowage near Hayward, WI, the Tricky Trout is a fun adventure paddle triathlon.
Start with a 2.5 mile paddle down the Namekagon River from Phipps Flowage to Trout Run Landing on Phipps road. Next, take off for a 5k run from Trout Run Landing to the Mosquito Brook CAMBA Trailhead. Finally, set out on a 9 mile bike ride loop from Mosquito Brook CAMBA Trailhead north on Makwa single track to Gravel Pit trailhead, and back via Phipps Fire Lane and Mosquito Brook to the Mosquito Brook trailhead.
This is a small, hometown-feel, self-supported race, limited to 30 boats.
There are two classes of race to choose from: Solo or Tandem (paddle together, combine your run and bike times).
