Get ready for a fantastic family tradition at the 20th Annual Trout Valley Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 26th, 2026! Located in the picturesque Trout Valley of McHenry, this exciting event invites runners of all ages to participate in a scenic 5K race that winds through the historic landscape. The day kicks off with race day registration and packet pickup starting at 7:30 AM, followed by a fun Kids Fun Run at 8:30 AM and the main 5K race at 9 AM.
Not only is this event a great way to kick off your Thanksgiving celebrations, but it also supports a wonderful cause—benefiting the Cross Country and Track & Field youth athletes in the Cary-Grove community as well as the Cary-Grove Food Pantry. Participants can earn medals and prizes for top finishers in various categories, and all are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to aid those in need. Join us for a day filled with community spirit, healthy competition, and the joy of giving back!

The Trout Valley Turkey Trot keeps the tradition going in 2026! Join us, as the TTCCA presents the 20th Annual Trout Valley Turkey Trot benefiting Cross Country and Track & Field youth athletes in the Cary-Grove community and the Cary-Grove Food Pantry. Bring the entire family for a pre-feast tradition and enjoy the scenic route thru the historic Trout Valley.
THIS YEARS RACE WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH.
RACE DAY REGISTRATION / PACKET PICKUP 7:30AM
KIDS FUN RUN 8:30AM
5K RACE 9AM
Medals and a prize will be given to the overall male and female finisher. Medals will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers in each division. Awards will be available at the Beverage tent following the race.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable, non-expired food item(s) to support the Cary-Grove Food Pantry. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Advance registration is preferred but limited on-site registration will be available inside the Trout Valley Lodge. Race day registration closes at 8:30am and t-shirts are not guaranteed. T-shirt sizing guaranteed thru 11/01/2026.
PACKET PICKUP will take place WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH from 3:30-7:00PM at GALATI'S HIDEAWAY, located at 800 FEINBERG CT, CARY, IL 60013. If you register on Wednesday (25th), your packet will be available race morning.
