This exciting event celebrates the 58th anniversary of the Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC) Clinic, the oldest student-run clinic in the nation, dedicated to providing essential health services to underserved populations. Join hundreds of runners and walkers as they come together to support this noble cause, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to SHAC’s free health services for uninsured and underinsured individuals in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham.
The 5K race kicks off bright and early at 7:30 AM, starting and finishing at the beautiful UNC Campus Y Courtyard located at 180 E Cameron Ave. With an entry fee of just $25 if you register by September 15th (increasing to $30 thereafter), participants will receive a t-shirt and the chance to win fantastic prizes for top finishers across various categories, including overall male, female, and non-binary winners, as well as age group prizes from youth to seniors. UNCs SHAC (Student Health Action Coalition) Clinic is the oldest student-run clinic in the nation, helping medically underserved populations in Chapel Hill and surrounding areas. Join us in celebrating the SHACs 58th anniversary at the SHAC 5K & Health Fair on Sunday, October 4th!
Last year, we had over 150 runners and walkers registered to support UNC's SHAC Clinic and so many amazing sponsors!
100% of the proceeds will go towards SHACs free health services for our uninsured and underinsured neighbors in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham. Whether you sign up for the 5K or donate - your help and support is greatly appreciated!

The 5K starts and finishes at 7:30 am at the UNC Campus Y Courtyard located at 180 E Cameron Ave in Chapel Hill. Free parking is available anywhere on campus. Parking is also available on Franklin Street.
The entry fee is $25 if registered by September 15th. Beginning September 16th, the entry fee will increase to $30 up to and including race day. The entry fee includes a t-shirt with sizes guaranteed to all those registered by September 15th. After that date the shirts will be given out as available.
Pre-registered entrants can pick up their race packets and late entrants can register beginning at 7 am on race day.
Prizes will be given to the overall first, second, and third place male and female finishers, as well as to the top non-binary finisher. Prizes will also be awarded to the top finisher in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

OPENS 03 AUGThe race will begin across from the Campus Y at the Old Well. You will be directed along the route through campus via volunteers and signage.
