Get ready for an exciting day of fitness and fun at the Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, in beautiful Albemarle, Stanly! Kicking off at 9:00 AM, this inaugural event invites runners, walkers, and strollers of all ages to participate in either the timed 5K or the non-timed 1-Mile Run/Walk. Celebrate the spirit of community and fire safety as the race coincides with Fire Prevention Week, featuring engaging fire safety demonstrations by the Albemarle Fire Department.
Participants who register by September 22nd will receive a stylish Race T-Shirt, and those over 21 can enjoy a complimentary Uwharrie Beer post-race! The festivities don’t stop there—stick around for games, face painting, and more family-friendly activities. Plus, the first 50 registrants will snag a free pair of themed socks! With awards for top finishers and age group winners, this is a race for every pace. Join us for a fantastic day filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit!

Join us on Saturday October 4th, 2025 at 9:00 am for the first running of the Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse Walk/Run 5K and 1 Miler. All participants who sign up by September 22nd will receive a Race T-Shirt. All participants over 21 will receive a complimentary Uwharrie Beer at the end of the race, participants under 21 or who prefer a non alcoholic beverage will have a choice of soft drinks.
This race will be celebrating the old Firehouse, the Firehouse red ale beer, Albemarle Fire Department and Fire Prevention Week (October 5th to October 11th). The official theme for Fire Prevention Week 2025, which runs from October 5-11, is "Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home"
Packet Pickup will be On Oct 3rd at Uwharrie Brewing from 3:00 pm to 6 pm. There will also be a packet pick up the day of the race.
Runners, Walkers, and Strollers are welcome.
We will have Games, Face Painting, coloring books and Fire Safety Demonstrations by the Albemarle Fire Department after the run, so plan to stick around afterwards.
