The 36th annual UWHARRIE MOUNTAIN RUN [http://www.uwharriemountainrun.com] offers challenging, winter, single-track trail runs of 8, 20, and 40 miles in central North Carolinas Uwharrie National Forest. Awards are a special tradition at Uwharrie, a region known for its beautiful pottery. All finishers receive pottery awards, and the top overall male and female overall will also receive Altra shoe certificates. Awards are presented as runners finish.

OPENS 01 NOVThe 40-mile course is an out-and-back run that turns around at the 20-mile finish area. The time limit for the 40-mile is 12.5 hours. For the safety of participants and volunteers, 40M runners will be stopped at the 32-mile point after 5:00 pm, at the 35-mile point after 6:00 pm, and at the 38-mile point after 7:00 pm. To continue past the 32-mile point after 4:00 pm, runners must have a light. -
20-Mile

OPENS 01 NOVThe 20-mile course is a point-to-point course starting at Jumping Off Rock trailhead and finishing at Wood Run Trailhead at Hwy 24/27. The 20-mile time limit is 6 hours. -
