This exciting event pays tribute to our nation's veterans, with a special focus this year on honoring the Army. Whether you're a seasoned marathoner or a first-time half marathon participant, this race offers a beautiful course that showcases the true spirit of Hoosier values and community pride.

Starting at 8:00 AM EST, both the marathon and half marathon will kick off with an atmosphere full of camaraderie and motivation. Runners should be prepared to complete the marathon's two-loop course by 11:15 AM, after which they will transition to the half marathon if they are not back on time. The event wraps up at 2:00 PM EST, and participants can look forward to delightful post-race festivities, including hot soups and refreshments, along with awards for the top finishers in each age division. Organiser's Description

Race Beyond Limits is honored to continue the tradition of the Bird family and serve as the new hosts of the 18th Annual Veterans Marathon, a superb event honoring our nations Veterans. Located in the heart of northeast Indiana, Columbia City is a small-town community with true Hoosier values. Its a community rooted in its agricultural heritage, strengthened by its commercial and residential development, and proud of its hometown heroes.

In honor of all of our Veterans this year the Veterans Marathon will be honoring the Army for its 18th running of the race. A portion of the profits from the event will be donated to

Start time:
8:00 am EST for the Marathon (runners needing more than 6 hours should email race director for possible early start)
8:00 am EST for the Half-Marathon

*Marathon runners will need to be able to complete the first course by 11:15 am. If they are not back to start the second loop by this time they will be dropped to the half marathon distance as our permits require a portion of the roads to reopen at that time.

End time:
Both the half and full marathon end at 2:00 pm EST.

POST-RACE:
Post Race festivities will include hot soups and other refreshments for runners and age group awards for the top 2 finishers in each age division.

    Starting downtown Columbia City at 8:00 AM on East Van Buren Street the course heads west through town before looping through the countryside and then returning back into town by the start-line and heading out on loop 2 of the course. Repeating the same loop and then finishing alongside the scenic Whitley County Courthouse. Marathon ( 2 Loops) USATF Certification #:IN17015TDK There are 15 fully staffed aid stations (Culligan water and Gatorade) along the course at the following mile markers: 2.5, 4 (GU Gels Available), 5, 6.5, 8.5, 10, 11(GU Gels Available), 13, 15.5, 17 (GU Gels Available), 18, 20, 21.5, 23, 24 (GU Gels Available). Course Closes at 6 hours or 2:00 PM Special consideration can be made if needed for an extended time allowance with an early start. Please email the race director for more information.
