This exciting event, running from Saturday, February 1st to Friday, February 28th, encourages the Wake Tech community in Raleigh, Wake, to get active and embrace a healthy lifestyle during the chilly winter days. Participants can take on the challenge of completing a total distance of 26.2 miles—whether you choose to run, walk, or mix both activities at your own pace, the choice is yours!
As this is a fully virtual marathon, you can participate from the comfort of your own home or while enjoying the scenic outdoors. Simply track your progress through RunSignup and record your distances as you go. Once you hit that magical 26.2-mile mark by the end of February, you’ll proudly earn a coveted Wake Tech Virtual Marathon medal. Join us in this fun and motivating challenge to kick off the new year with energy and enthusiasm!

Organiser's Description
The Wake Tech Virtual Marathon is a chance for our students, staff, and faculty to get moving in this new year! We understand that this time of year with the cold weather and shorter days, it can be difficult to get moving and exercise. Because of this, we are challenging our Wake Tech community to participate in our virtual marathon. This event is fully virtual, meaning you can participate from anywhere. Each individual that signs up will be given the same challenge, run or walk 26.2 miles in the month of February and record it in RunSignup. There is no requirement to run the entire distance or walk it. You can mix it up as needed. after you walk or run, simply go into RunSignup and report the distance. As long as you have recorded at least 26.2 miles by the end of February, you will have completed the challenge and will be rewarded with a Wake Tech Virtual Marathon medal!
