Walk for South Sudan

Southern Sudan Healthcare Organization (SSHCO) has friends all over the world. We have created this walking event to connect our wonderful supporters to others and the country they support-South Sudan. Friends is Gainesville, Florida will be walking together on May 15, 2024, at the Depot Park. If you dont live in Gainesville, we invite you to organize your own day to walk together. We have special discounted prices for school teams. During registration you can create your own team if you like. Children under 8 years old are free and do not need to register. 
We would encourage you to sponsor a child in South Sudan by going to the Sponsor a Child button at the top. The children in the Mangalla displacement camp want to join in on this walk to help support the SSHCO clinic in their displacement camp.
 
The Virtual Walk Option
If you would like to start walking now, we have chosen a course for a virtual walk that will start you at SSHCOs mobile clinic in the Mongalla displacement camp in South Sudan. This walking event will occur all year. This virtual walk will end 133 miles later at SSHCOs Maar Clinic. When you record the miles you walk, there is a map of South Sudan showing you where you are on this walk and how close you are getting to Maar, South Sudan. Some will want to challenge themselves to walk 133 miles in the next several months and others just want to enjoy challenging themselves to get outdoors to enjoy a nice stroll. Whatever you chose to do in your unique location whether that is in Florida or another state, know that you are helping to support the work of SSHCOs maternal and child health services in South Sudan.
