Join us for "Walking with Stephen" on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, in Hampton, as we honor the life of Stephen Smith and advocate for justice regarding his unsolved homicide from 2015. This poignant memorial walk will begin at Gooding Cemetery and cover roughly one mile to the site where Stephen was found, allowing participants to reflect and remember. Under police escort, the walk will take less than an hour, making it a meaningful yet accessible event for all.
After the walk, attendees will return to the cemetery for refreshments featuring some of Stephen's favorite foods, a heartfelt Celebration of Life, and a call to action to amplify the voices of all victims of violence. Participants will receive a commemorative challenge coin as a token of remembrance. For those who cannot attend in person, we invite you to join us virtually, where you can walk in memory of Stephen or any loved one whose story deserves to be heard. This uplifting event aims to bring the community together to support Stephen's Scholarship Fund and to seek answers and justice. Together, let’s make a difference!

Join us in celebrating the Life of Stephen Smith and pushing for answers in his 2015 unsolved homicide. Through this event, we aim to find answers in his death, give a voice to all victims of violence and support STEPHEN'S SCHOLARSHIP FUND [http://StephenSmithScholarship.com]. Stephen is one name of many whose story is left unclear because the system is unable to find the answers or unwilling to share them.
To do the work on our own is an immense burden but together we can make truth known.
The memorial Walk will begin at Gooding Cemetery walk roughly a mile to Stephen's crime scene where he was found dead July 8th, 2015. We'll return to the Cemetery for refreshments, a Celebration of Life and call to action so the Voices of these Victims can be heard and our mission visible to media and those with information as to how Stephen died.
Join Us for the Walk In Person on July 12th starting at 8am. The group will stay together under police escort and the walk will take less then 1 hour. Attendees will receive a memorial challenge coin, enjoy some of Stephen's favorite food as a refreshment after the walk and enjoy a beautiful and uplifting morning.
JOIN US VIRTUALLY and receive an embossed letter from Sandy, the challenge coin and we encourage you to walk where you are in memory of Stephen or a Voice in your life that needs to be heard. Share a photo and a story with us to share and be encouraged.
ONCE YOU COMPLETE THE FIRST PAGE OF REGISTRATION YOU'LL BE PROMPTED TO CHOOSE WHETHER YOU ARE GOING TO PICK UP YOUR CHALLENGE COIN OR IF YOU'D LIKE US TO MAIL IT.
Instructions on the Virtual Race format will be emailed on Wednesday, but essentially you'll walk at your leisure on Saturday or another time.
