With a history of 43 years, this race is a beloved tradition, so be sure to register early, as there is an entry cap for runner safety and logistics. Organiser's Description
The WCRC Hangover Classic features both 10K and 5K road races. Both races start simultaneously from the same line and both finish on the same line (with start and finish chip timing). Both courses are flat and fast entirely on beachfront roads (no beach running). Given the scenic beachfront location, many participants choose to take a post-race ocean plunge to kick off the New Year. Post-Race Party with music, beer, or and plenty of fun back at the Carousel for one more year!
The weather is unpredictable in January, its part of the adventure, but the race will be held regardless of the weather unless the roads are closed by the police (has never happened in the 43-year history of the race). The Winners Circle Running Clubs New Years Day Hangover Classic 10K and 5K Road Races will be run on Monday, January 1, 2025, at 11:30 am at Salisbury Beach, MA. Proceeds will benefit the charitable activities, youth and adult running programs of the Winners Circle Running Club. The WCRC is a USATF certified, affiliate member of the RRCA and a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, who's goal is to provide equal opportunities for everyone to participate in and contribute to the sport of running - where all are safe, welcome, and have a sense of belonging.
