This year marks a new chapter for the Wet Dog Triathlon, now managed by the Team Rocket Tri Club, while still featuring the beloved expertise of long-time Race Director Leah Brown. Participants will tackle a thrilling 400-meter open water swim, followed by a scenic 15k bike ride, and a flat 5k run along the picturesque banks of the Tennessee River.
The Wet Dog Triathlon not only offers a fantastic racing experience but also serves a greater purpose as a fundraiser for local organizations, including the Tennessee Valley Outreach, Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Princess Theater. As the second event in the Summer Sprint Series, athletes will have the chance to earn a series water bottle upon finishing, plus capture their achievements with professional race photos. Join fellow triathletes for a day of fun, fitness, and philanthropy at one of North Alabama's premier sprint triathlons!

Join us for the Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard Park [https://pointmallardpark.com/] on July 11th, 2026 at 7:00 AM. This year will launch a new era for Wet Dog as it becomes a Team Rocket Tri Club managed race. Long time Race Director Leah Brown will still be very involved as we work together to make Wet Dog the very best open water sprint triathlon in North Alabama.
Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard is a 400 meter open water swim, followed by a 15k bike ride and a 5k run along the beautiful (and FLAT) banks of the Tennessee River at Decatur, Alabama. Wet Dog is a fundraiser for Tennessee Valley Outreach [https://www.tennesseevalleyoutreach.org/], Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Princess Theater [https://princesstheatre.org/].
Wet Dog at Point Mallard is the second of three races that make up the Summer Sprint Series. Heel & Crank Duathlon [https://www.trisignup.com/Race/AL/Huntsville/HeelandCrankDuathlon] and the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon [https://www.trisignup.com/Race/AL/Huntsville/TeamRocketTriClubHuntsvilleSprintTriathlon] are the remaining event in the series. Each participant who finishes will receive a series water bottle at no extra charge.
