Organiser's Description
Where the River Runs 10 Mile Trail Race - May 03, 2025 - Shenango Trail
Come enjoy the beautiful woods of western Pennsylvania, while running alongside the 2021 River Of The Year, the Shenango River. This trail race will take place on the beautiful Shenango Trail. Used in the 1800s as a trail for a canal system, the canal's tow path became a hiking trail in the mid-20th century, then was neglected, and almost reclaimed by nature. Now after many years of work, the Shenango hiking trail has been brought back to life for everyone to enjoy! This Trail Race will be point to point, starting at the Big Bend trail head, and finishing at the beautiful Kidds Mill Covered Bridge. This will be a perfect race for beginners looking to try out trail running for the first time. For seasoned trail runner, it will be a great course for a flat and fast workout!

You will begin at the Big Bend trailhead on N. Bend Rd. The course will be roughly 10 miles in length, running north to finish at the Kidds Mill Covered Bridge. The course is very flat with only a little over a 100 ft of elevation gain, making it ideal for all levels of runners including beginners, along with experienced runners looking for a good workout! Depending on weather, some streams could be high, and some areas of trail may be muddy - so be prepared!
