The Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Half Marathon & 5 Mile is North Carolinas wildest winter trail race, held every January at Northeast Park in Gibsonville. This unique trail race has built a reputation for unpredictable conditionsover the years its been 85 degrees and bone dry, while other times its been 35 degrees with extremely slippery trails and even an uncrossable river. No matter the weather, this race delivers adventure, camaraderie, and a true WTF attitude on the trails.
Whether youre ready to take on the Half Marathon, with two epic river crossings at the Reedy Fork River, or you prefer the 5 mile run or ruck option, youll find a challenge worth bragging about. We will be allowing 50 half marathoners running or rucking to start early, but only on the basis they need the extra time to meet the cutoffs. 1) I understand that while the course will be markered, there is a chance that aid stations will not be manned by the time I arrive at them. 2) I am signing up for this category because I believe the extra time will be necessary for me to make the cutoff, not because I want to finish early. I will not use headphones so I can hear runners behind me, and I will move the the side when runners approach to pass. -
