Organiser's Description
Today we follow the tranquil byways over Chalk Hill and through the Alexander Valley, enjoying its rustic simplicity. We head south, circumnavigating Healdsburg, always within view of its endless vineyards. Along this stretch of road, you can see the grapes, smell the fermentation, and almost taste the wine. Through the quiet stretch of Chalk Hill and the Alexander Valley, we pass many unique and distinctive wineries. The climb on today’s route is an out/back of 11 miles each direction, about mid-way is the perfect spot to stop and take in the views of the surrounding valleys, for those with the legs they can continue to complete the full 11 miles.
