Get ready for an inspiring day at the Wisdom Warrior Challenge taking place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Abbotswood at Irving Park in Greensboro, Guilford! This exciting track event is designed specifically for senior living communities, showcasing the vibrant spirit and resilience of participants aged 50 and older. What began as a local 5K with just 19 seniors has blossomed into a national competition with over 1,000 participants, all eager to prove that age is just a number!
The Wisdom Warrior Challenge features a variety of race distances and categories, including a wheelchair division, allowing everyone to participate and shine. Each participant will receive a fantastic swag bag, a commemorative t-shirt, and a medal to celebrate their achievements. This event not only promotes health and wellness among seniors but also fosters community engagement through sponsorships, awards ceremonies, and vendor expos. Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie, and remember—you're so much more than a number!

THE WISDOM WARRIOR CHALLENGE (WWC) IS A UNIQUE TRACK EVENT FOR SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITIES! WHAT STARTED AS 19 SENIORS TRAINING TOGETHER FOR A LOCAL 5K NOW INVOLVES MORE THAN 1,000+ PARTICIPANTS IN A NATIONAL COMPETITION! AND ITS ABSOLUTELY FREE TO EVERY PARTICIPANT THANKS TO OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS!
PARTICIPATING SENIOR COMMUNITIES ARE GIVEN ALL THE TOOLS REQUIRED TO HOST A WWC TRACK EVENT FOR THEIR RESIDENTS THAT WILL EARN THEM POINTS IN BOTH A LOCAL AND NATIONAL COMPETITION!
QUALIFYING IS EASY PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 50 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND ABLE TO REPEAT THE STATEMENT: AGE IS JUST A NUMBER, AND I AM SO MUCH MORE THAN A NUMBER!
THE COMPETITION IS BROKEN DOWN INTO SEVERAL DIFFERENT DISTANCES AND VARIOUS AGE CATEGORIES INCLUDING A WHEELCHAIR DIVISION! PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE STOCKED UP SWAG BAGS, T-SHIRTS, AND MEDALS.
THE WWC IS A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE SENIOR COMMUNITY RESIDENTS IN HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS INVOLVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY THROUGH SPONSORSHIPS, AWARDS CEREMONIES AND VENDOR EXPOS!
