Organiser's Description
Ladies, join us on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2025 AT 9AM at the FERRY FIELD TRACK in Ann Arbor, MI for the fourth annual WOMEN'S FERRY FIELD 5K!
Three years ago, a group of runners decided they wanted to collectively train to break 19:00 in the 5K. This group wanted to create a college-like experience by holding the time trial on a track. A track 5k is difficult to come by for post-collegiate athletes that used to expect most of their races on a track or cross country course. The event gathered interest and many others of the same caliber had nostalgia for a track 5K.
We started the Womens Ferry Field 5K to create an opportunity for women to reach a time goal while also supporting the runner next to them. No official podium, no first place prizes, no finishing gear; just a hard-earned personal accomplishment.
There is no theme this year; just come out for an opportunity to work hard towards your individual goal alongside colleagues, friends and other racers. Being in this special and friendly but competitive racing environment has been known to be helpful to turn on that extra gear, after all!
But what we would like for everyone to remember is that we need to celebrate each other, our individual years of hard work, our trials and tribulations, our camaraderie, and this special group that has continued to grow in friendship.
So whether you are coming to break 19 minutes in the 5k or you are striving for a stroller 5k PR, come join us!
NOTE: Since this is a smaller race and we cap the amount of people running, please only sign up if you plan to join us or let us know if you need to drop so we can plan accordingly and give someone else the spot!
Sincerely,
Olivia and Michelle
