Race Notes--If any of you want to ruck as your looking for checkpoints feel free too.
The things you need for this on the course is what I showed below.
A small pack with water,a gallon ziplock bag for your map,punch card and clue sheet.
Download Handy GPS beforehand to get used to it. Very easy.
Lots of determination and the will to have fun.

If you have never done an orienteering/land navigation style of an event you are missing out.
These events have been around for lots of years and originated in Scandinavia / Sweden in the 1900's.
They have become more and more popular.
It's always been a part of adventure races over the years but now there are many stand alone events with different disciplines. Solo's,teams of 2 or 3 are my divisions.
GRAB A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER AND GIVE IT A TRY. A GREAT WAY TO LEARN TERRAIN AND GETTING AROUND IN THE WOODS.
Location--Liebers Point
Fees--$40 per person
Fees include--shirts,snacks,drinks,awards
Registration closes March 13th
Check in--8:30am
Start--9:00am
Cut off time--12:00pm
Format--Solo,teams of 2 or 3 person (coed,male,female) will get clues,punch cards,maps and info at check in.
Racers will have a 3 hour cutoff from the time they started.
Racers will use the maps and clues to find check[points located out on the course area.
This map will be pre-plotted.
Teams may use the Free App Handy GPS.
Course will be in the middle of North side from Liebers Point to Area 3-4-7-8
Teams must check in with the punch card before cutoff. Any team that comes in late will lose a checkpoint every 5 minutes
Race gear--map case or gallon zip lock for maps ,instruction,snacks and a compass for this one. Easy to do!
A light pack for hydration and snacks ,cell phone,
THIS IS A RUN OR HIKE EVENT!
This is a family friendly sport.
