Join us for the 1K Principal's Challenge Kid's Run on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, at Hutchinson Park in Uniontown, Fayette County! This exciting event runs from 9 AM to 11 AM and is designed exclusively for elementary school students, encouraging them to lead active and healthy lifestyles in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere.
The 1K run, which celebrates health, school spirit, and community, challenges students to get moving alongside their classmates and local principals. With the introduction of the nationally recognized Kids Run the Nation program, this event aims to inspire youth fitness while fostering a sense of belonging and confidence. Every young participant will receive a bib number, a complimentary event t-shirt (make sure to sign up by September 15th to guarantee your size!), and a finisher medal—all at no cost to families!
In addition to the run, families can enjoy a variety of health-related activities and fun experiences, making it a wonderful day for everyone. Plus, keep an eye out for the beloved Pirate Parrot! Sign up for this event is for elementary school age students.
Were excited to bring back a favorite community eventthe 1K Principals Challengea fun, non-competitive run dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles among Fayette Countys elementary school students. This unique event partners with Fayette County elementary school principals, who challenge their students to get active, move together, and celebrate health and school spirit.
Were introducing the nationally recognized Kids Run the Nation program in line with the Road Runners Club of America.
Were teaming up with our regions top wellness leaders and the YMCA to further support youth fitness in our community
This is more than a runits a celebration of health, school spirit, and community generosity. Come cheer, run, walk, and be part of something inspiring.
Every child who participates will receive:

Its all part of a larger celebration of Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, helping families embrace wellness and healthy habits that can last a lifetime. We also anticipate a visit from the Pirate Parrot!!
Parents are welcome to run alongside their child if their little one is feeling shy or unsure. NO REGISTRATION IS NEEDED FOR PARENTS.
Donations are welcome to offset the cost of the event. Please hit the donate button, any amount will help.
