1st Annual Downers Grove, IL Ostomy 5k Fun Run

Join us for the 1ST ANNUAL DOWNERS GROVE, IL RUN FOR RESILIENCE OSTOMY 5K FUN RUN AND WALK on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in celebration of Ostomy Awareness Day. THERE WILL ALSO BE A 50-YARD KIDS RUN! All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA), a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible (https://www.ostomy.org).



For the past six years, the OSTOMY SUPPORT GROUP OF DUPAGE COUNTY [https://www.facebook.com/OstomySupportGroupofDuPageCounty] has hosted their own _Run for Resilience_ 5k walk and run, as well as _Ostomy Awareness Day _events. This year, we have decided to make this an official event. Please join us and UOAA to celebrate 7 years of Ostomy Awareness and Support in Downers Grove, IL.



NOTE: To ensure everyone is safe and comfortable running, walking or rolling on the run course, we are capping the number of participants at 100 this year.



_RACE DAY SCHEDULE_

* 9:00 am to 9:45 am Same day registration and packet pick-up
* 10:00 am 5k Run/Walk/Roll STARTS
* 11:00 am Kids Run (50-yard Dash)
* 11:30 am Awards Ceremony

The Registration Fee of $29.00 and $17.50 for the 50-yard Kid's Run includes a unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib. Please note there are a limited number of T-Shirt sizes now available. So don't delay, register today to order the T-Shirt size you'd like to wear at the event.



_THE COURSE_

This fun run/walk/roll will be held on an approximately one-mile looped course from the Byram Healthcare building on Woodcreek Drive. The route will proceed along Birchwood Place to Lacey Rd to Woodcreek Drive and back to the Byram building. Course maps are available online and will be posted at the registration desk.



_PACKET PICK-UP_

> Friday, October 4, 2024 Pick up will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Byram Healthcare

> Saturday, October 5, 2024 before the start of the run, between 9:00 am and 9:45 am at Byram Healthcare



_PARKING_

There is ample free parking at the Byram Healthcare office.



_PRIZES_

Participant awards for all finishers

Medals for top three overall 5k finishers, male and female, and top three 5k finishers for the Ostomate category

Awards for top three finishers of Kids Run



_REFRESHMENTS_

We will have a variety of refreshments for you to enjoy after the race!

Once youve registered you have the option to CREATE A NEW RACE GROUP/TEAM OR TO JOIN one thats already been established. THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO GET OTHERS IN YOUR COMMUNITY TO REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RUN and compete against each other. Invite family, friends, co-workers to Register, pick to be on your Race Group/Team (or start their own), order their T-Shirt & Bib and celebrate the day with you! Fundraising is an important aspect of our _Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K_. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
