Get ready to unleash your inner superhero at the 2025 Superhero Half Marathon and Relay, happening on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, in the picturesque town of Morristown, Morris! This exciting event offers participants the chance to tackle a scenic half marathon course that winds through Morris Township, Chatham, and Harding, finishing at the beautiful Loantaka Park. Runners can choose to take on the 13.1-mile distance solo or team up in a 2-person relay, making it a perfect outing for all fitness levels.
The first 1,000 registrants will receive stylish tech tees, and all finishers will be awarded large medals, celebrating their impressive achievements. With prizes for the top three overall male and female runners, as well as special awards for the best costumes, there’s plenty of incentive to show off your superhero spirit! Enjoy water and sports drink stations every 2.5 miles and fuel up post-race with delicious, free pizza from the Columbia Inn's food truck, along with other tasty treats. Join us for a fun-filled day of running, community, and celebration in Morristown!

Scenic Course!
Place: Race will start at Ginty Field in Morris Township. Address for GPS is 49 Woodland Ave. Morristown. The race will finish at Loantaka Park. It is walking distance back to the starting area.
Parking: Street parking on Woodland Ave., the municipal building at 50 Woodland Ave., Ginty Pool, Woodland School.
Route: A very scenic course through Morris Township, Chatham, Harding and Loantaka Park. There are a few rolling hills in the first 5 miles, but it is a fast course with lots of crowd support.
Time Limit: The course time limit is 3 hours. This will be strictly enforced. If you have not made it to mile 7.5 by 10:30am you will be redirected to the finish and your total run will be about 9 miles.
Awards: Prizes will be given to top 3 overall runners and top 3 in each 5 year age group. Special prizes will also be given out for the best costumes!
Fluid Stations: Water stations will be located approximately every 2.5 miles along the course. Sports Drink will also be available at stations 2 and 4.
Refunds: We now offer registration insurance when you register. If you do not purchase this insurance we will absolutely not even consider a refund or deferral. If you would like to switch from the half marathon to the relay or vice versa, please email us at [email protected]
Pacers: There will be pace group leaders wearing bright shirts leading pace groups for 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30 and 2:45.
Relay: There will be a 2-person relay. Partner 1 will run about 5 miles and Partner 2 will run about 8.1 miles. Partner 1 will start with the rest of the half marathon runners. Partner 2 will wait for their partner in the Relay Zone in front of the Fire Department on Dwyer Lane. It is also at Ginty Field, near the start/finish area.
Post Run Party: Fuel up after your run with free PIZZA from the Columbia Inn's food truck, bananas, granola bars, water, and soft pretzels from Philly Pretzel Factory! Atlantic Health will be providing post-run massages!

The relay consists of one 5 mile leg and one 8.1 mile leg. The first relay partner will start at 8:30 with all of the individual half marathon runners. The second relay partner will wait at Ginty Field in front of the firehouse for their partner to finish. When the first partner finishes, they will high-five their partner and he or she will finish the remaining 8.1 miles.
