This unique event takes you on a virtual journey along I-10, covering an impressive total of 877.36 miles from the Louisiana border to the New Mexico border. Participants can join solo or form relay teams to log their running, walking, hiking, rucking, or wheelchair activities throughout the year, reaching milestones along the way.
Based in Richmond, Fort Bend, this fully virtual challenge allows you to track your progress with a live leaderboard and map. Whether you're participating in in-person races, training on a treadmill, or enjoying walks with family, every step counts towards your Trans Texas adventure. Plus, each participant will receive a commemorative shirt and medal, and the top two male and female finishers in both open and masters categories will earn a special Trans Texas Buckle as a symbol of their achievement. Organiser's Description
The 2025 Trans Texas Virtual Run/Walk Challenge will follow I-10 from the Louisiana border to the New Mexico border, a total of 877.36 miles. Participants log their own on-foot activities as solo or relay team, reaching milestones along the way, as you cross the entire state during the year. We will have a live leaderboard and map tracking.
All activities must be on-foot; running, walking, hiking, or rucking, and for our adaptive athletes; wheelchair, handcycle, etc. You may use all qualifying activities towards the progress of your Trans Texas; this means in-person races, walks with your family, treadmill, training, etc.
Each participant will receive a shirt and medal which we will send out right away so it's ready and waiting to celebrate when you finish.
Our top two male/female open and masters (40+) will also win a special Trans Texas Buckle for being the fastest to cross the state.
This event is entirely virtual (we do not recommend running on I-10, or any road for that matter), you can join us at our in-person events and Get Off the Road throughout the year at the Trail Racing Over Texas races.
