This exhilarating event invites participants to dive into a thrilling swim at the O'Connell Center Pool, pedal through the scenic pathways of the University of Florida campus, and sprint through the heart of this beautiful location. With race distances ranging from a Super Sprint featuring a 250-meter swim, 3.1-mile bike ride, and 1-mile run, to a Sprint Distance that includes a 350-meter swim, 9.3-mile bike ride, and 3.1-mile run, there's something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned triathlete or a first-time competitor.
Join fellow athletes and triathlon enthusiasts for a day filled with camaraderie and competition, all while supporting the University of Florida TriGators Triathlon Club. Your participation helps fuel one of Florida's top collegiate triathlon teams! Alumni are especially encouraged to return to their roots and celebrate this special event with an alumni meetup zone and delicious food. Come join us for a spectacular swim in the OConnell Center Pool, a bike through UFs scenic campus, and a run around the heart of our beautiful campus center including. Celebrate three sports in a single sunshine-state morning. Gather up your energy and best friends for an event that will bring out the TriGator in you!!!
This race is perfect for just about anyone! Maybe you want to see what a triathlon is like? Maybe youre training for your next race? Maybe you want to come in first? Maybe you just want to finish something more than a color run? This event is FOR YOU!
Event Distances:
Super Sprint: A short 250-meter swim (thats 5 lengths in the pool), a 3.1-mile bike ride, and a quick 1-mile run!
Sprint Distance: 350-meter swim (7 lengths in the OConnell Center Pool), 9.3-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run through the heart of the University of Florida campus!
Throughout the years, many of the Gainesville and University of Florida community have come out to support the UF TriGators. Your participation in this race provides us with the funding necessary for the University of Florida TriGators Triathlon Club to compete. With your help, weve consistently been one of the top collegiate triathlon teams in Florida.
Can You Escape The Swamp?
TriGators Alumni are welcome to come to the 2026 Escape the Swamp Triathlon on March 15th, 2026, and experience this race on their old stomping grounds! Please contact us at trigatorstri@gmail.com for a special discount code to the race. We will have an alumni meetup zone and food for the event. Come race in the Swamp and support your favorite FCTC Team at the same time!
No Refunds and No Transfers. NO EXCEPTIONS! Each entry fee to the 2026 Escape the Swamp Triathlon will be considered a donation to the University of Florida TriGators Triathlon Race. TriGators reasonably relies on all entry fees in order to promote and function as a team to compete across the United States. If for some reason the 2026 Escape the Swamp Triathlon is not able to occur, each athlete will receive a refund for their entry fee or deferral to the next TriGators race.
Each participant registered before March 1st, 2026 will receive an event race shirt. All finishers will receive a unique Escape the Swamp Triathlon finisher medal. Age Group awards will follow the 5-year age limit from 9 and under up to 75+.
