Join us for the vibrant 2026 Freedom Celebration 5K Race and Youth Run on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, in the heart of Champaign, Illinois! This exhilarating event promises a fun-filled day for participants of all ages, featuring a scenic 5K Run/Walk course that starts and finishes on Kirby Ave., stretching between the iconic State Farm Center and Memorial Stadium. The course winds east on Kirby/Florida, then north on Lincoln, providing a fantastic backdrop for both seasoned runners and enthusiastic walkers.
For our younger participants, the Youth Run will take place along Kirby Ave., allowing them to enjoy the spirit of the celebration alongside family and friends. With two water stations along the route to keep everyone refreshed, this event is all about community and fun! Don't forget to register by June 22nd to secure your race shirt, and mark your calendar for packet pick-up at Body 'n Sole Sports on July 3rd. Awards will be given to the top finishers in various age groups, making this a competitive yet friendly atmosphere. Make sure to park on the east side of the State Farm Center, and come ready to celebrate freedom and fitness in style!

The Youth Run course will be along Kirby Ave.
The 5K Run/Walk course starts and finishes on Kirby Ave. between the State Farm Center and Memorial Stadium. The race goes east on Kirby/Florida, north on Lincoln and back to the finish line. There will be two water stations. All proceeds go to support the Champaign County Freedom Celebration.
* You must register by June 22nd to order a race shirt (additional fee will apply and no shirts will be available on race day).
* Packet pick-up will be at Body 'n Sole Sports, 1317 N Dunlap, Savoy, IL on the following dates and time
* Friday, July 3rd from 12:00-6:00
* Race-day packet pick-up will be start at 7:15 and end promptly at 8:45
* REGISTRATION IS VIA THIS PAGE ONLY AND WILL END PROMPTLY AT 8:45 ON JULY 4TH.
* There will be no paper sign-up.
* No cash or checks will be accepted at any time. PAYMENT THROUGH WEBSITE ONLY.
* Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, and to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over and the top 5 walkers. YOU OR A FRIEND MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE YOUR AWARD WHEN THEY ARE ANNOUNCED. THE AWARDS WILL NOT BE MAILED OR DELIVERED.
* Race day parking will be on the EAST SIDE of State Farm Center, lots E5 and F5. Enter and exit the parking area from Forth St.
* For the Youth run an adult will be allowed to run with each youth. THE ADULT DOES NOT HAVE TO REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT.
* YOUTH RUN IS A FUN RUN, NO BIBS WILL BE GIVEN AND NO PACKET PICK UP IS NEEDED.
* There will be a price increase on June 25th.
