The Hill's Great Rover Road Run (GRRR) is an annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run that promotes health and wellness amongst people and their four-legged friends all while raising money for the LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital's Good Samaritan Fund. This is a fun and exciting event for all involved! Whether you are ready for a 5K or simply want to take your pet for a fun stroll, this event promises a day full of activities and community togetherness. All race proceeds and donations benefit the Good Samaritan Fund. This year, we have also added a 'Beat the Dean' walking race!

*In PERSON OPTION* 2026 Hill's GRRR 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run

This 5K's course will be along the levee on River Road, across from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine located on Skip Bertman Drive. There will also be a separate 1 Mile Fun Run course available for anyone interested in running or walking a shorter distance. All participants are welcome to participate in BOTH events! All pets are welcome to attend this event, but we ask that you please make sure your pets are on a leash and work well with other people, pets, and children. *For the safety of all participants, we reserve the right to ask pet owners to leave if their pets do not meet the requirements previously stated above.* The email address you use to register for the event will be used to contact you regarding all official race updates. Race check-in will occur on Friday, April 24th from 5:00 PM to 7 PM near the entrance of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. If you cannot make the Friday check-in times, you can check-in the morning of the race (Saturday, April 25th) starting at 7:00 AM until race time at 8 AM. We will be accepting registration right up until the start of the race. The race starts at 8AM on Saturday, April 25th. You will have until 12PM to complete the 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run, submit your pet's costume/trick contest submission(s), or submit your doorbuster prize entry (further details below). Winners will be announced by 5PM on April 25th, 2026 via the Race Facebook Page. If you cannot attend the race but would like to donate, you can do so through this website as well. Thank you for your contribution! The first 100 participants to sign up for the race will receive a FREE GRRR goodie bag provided by Hills Pet Nutrition! PRIZES: We will be providing doorbuster prizes for several lucky participants selected at random. Any participant that uses the hashtag #HillsGRRR2026 on Facebook or Instagram is eligible for the doorbuster prizes. If your Facebook or Instagram is set to private, please email us a screenshot(s) of your posts to GreatRoverRoadRun@gmail.com for proof of entry. You may post your picture on the GRRR event page or your own page. Each participant is only allowed 2 entries max. This is the 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run VIRTUAL option. Any self-submitted race times will be accepted, but they will not be considered for race prizes because this is a virtual race. The email address you use to register for the event will be used to contact you regarding all official race updates. We will be contacting virtual participants closer to the event to share how they can submit their race times. We will be accepting registration right up until the start of the race. The race starts at 8AM on Sunday, April 6th. You will have until 12PM to complete the 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run, submit your pet's costume/trick contest submission(s), or submit your doorbuster prize entry (further details below). Winners will be announced by 5PM on April 6th, 2025 via the Race Facebook Page. If you cannot attend the race but would like to donate, you can do so through this website as well.
