Building Change is excited to announce their 6th annual 22 Strong Walk taking place on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in Cottleville, St Charles. This meaningful event aims to honor and support United States Military veterans by raising awareness about the 22 veterans who lose their lives to suicide each day. Building Change has already donated over $200,000 to veterans' organizations through the 22 Strong walk. Participants can choose between a 22-mile long walk or a 2.2-mile short walk to show their support for this important cause. Beneficiaries for the 2024 event include FOCUS Marines Foundation, Dogs For Our Brave, Got Your Six PTSD Support Dogs, Joshua Chamberlain Society, Re-Emerge, and the Mid America Veterans Museum. Organiser's Description

Building Change is hosting their 6th annual 22 Strong walk to honor and support United States Military veterans. The number 22 is significant to the event because it represents the average number of veterans who lose their lives to suicide every day. Building Change is dedicated to eliminating veterans suicide. In five years of the 22 Strong walk, Building Change has donated over $200,000 to local and national organizations that directly impact veterans.

    This "race" is on a designated course in St. Charles County. We will start and finish in the same location (Frankie Martin's Garden in Cottleville, MO). The 22 miles represent the average of 22 veterans who lose their lives to suicide every day. Walk as few or as many miles of this course as you would like. There will be rest stops with shuttles to the starting location, fuel (water, Gatorade, food!), and toilets along the course. These stops are sponsored by St. Louis Print Group. Post race: enjoy lunch on us (BBQ), bid on silent auction items, and listen to beneficiaries speak.

    This "race" is on a designated course in St. Charles County. We will start and finish in the same location (Frankie Martin's Garden in Cottleville, MO). The 2.2 miles represent the average of 22 veterans who lose their lives to suicide every day. Walk as few or as many miles of this course as you would like. We are family and dog friendly, however this race is self-supported. Water/refreshments will not be available along the course. Grab a bottle of water and bring it with you! Post race: enjoy lunch on us (BBQ), bid on silent auction items, and listen to beneficiaries speak.
