Organiser's Description
Swim one mile (1600m) each hour at the top of the hour. Your rest between miles is the time leftover in the hour after you swim! This event is held in a beautiful outdoor pool in Islamorada which will be set up long course meters. We have space for 10 individuals to swim in split lanes (no circle swimming). The goal is to swim 24 miles in 24 hours, and yes - we swim through the night. Please make sure you are physically and mentally prepared for this challenge by training in advance!
Each swimmer is encouraged to raise funds towards the restoration of our island's pride and joy, the Alligator Lighthouse. Swimmers will be able to send out their individual fundraising pages as they wish (at registration you will be asked whether you'd like to set up a fundraiser on this site which you can share with your fanbase)! RELAY TEAMS must alternate swimmers each hour.

SPACE IS LIMITED. To Start we have 4 spots for teams and 10 Individual spaces. We will open more spaces for relays if we have space. The weather here in December is generally delightful BUT if, for safety reasons, we need to delay, pause, or shorten this event, we can not offer refunds.
