The race will be clearly marked, and a map of the course will be provided for your convenience. Plus, every participant has a chance to win medals for the top three finishers in each age group, which includes categories for ages 5-19, 20-34, 35-50, and 50+. Please join us for our 2nd Annual St. Francis of Assisi 5K! This is an opportunity for you to get some exercise, have fun and help local shelter animals. Pets are more than welcome, they are encouraged! A photo area will be setup for you to capture memories with your friends, family and pets. Free refreshments for both you and your pet will be available before and after the race. We will be raffling off 2 different gift baskets during the event. One basket will be pet themed and the other will be runner themed. St. Francis CARE will be bringing animals that are currently up for adoption. We will offer a map of the race coarse this year and the race path will be clearly marked for the participants. Proceeds will go to the St. Francis CARE Animal Shelter in Murphysboro. Other donations such as dog food, cat food, liter, pet toys or anything pet related will also go to the shelter just bring your donations to the race with you! The top 3 winners from each age group will receive a medal. Age groups will be divided into 4 different sections. Ages 5-19, 20-34, 35-50, and 50+. T-shirts are included in the registration price when you register for the race before October 2nd. We hope to see you there!
