3rd Annual Kevin Dendy Memorial 5K

Come out and join us on Saturday, April 6th for the 3rd annual Kevin Dendy Memorial 5K starting at Gold Park and running through Hillsboroughs beautiful River Walk. 
Captain Kevin Dendy was local to the Hillsborough/North Durham community. He was commissioned into the North Carolina National Guard and served one tour in Kuwait during the initial wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and provided essential medical care to soldiers serving overseas. Kevin had a love for everything outdoors - running, hiking, swimming, and riding his motorcycle. On December 29 of 2021, Kevin tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident. Proceeds from this race will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project of Fayetteville, NC and the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse, organizations that were very important to Kevin. The race will start at Gold Park at 8:00am. Parking is available at the park with additional parking in the gravel lot across from Hillsborough BBQ on Nash St. 
PACKET PICKUP will be available on race day beginning at 7:00am. 
DOG FRIENDLY
Your dog is welcome to join in the race along with Kevins dog, Barley! Please note that some areas along the route are quite narrow, especially the covered bridge. There is a nice dog park for your pooch to meet up with friends afterwards! 
AWARDS
Awards will be given to top 3 overall male and female finishers.
All registered participants will receive a custom race t-shirt and finishers medal. Guaranteed t-shirt size deadline is March 2, 2024.
