Join us for the 3rd Annual PPP3CA Race for Rare 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at beautiful Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas! This exciting event is not just a race; it's a community gathering dedicated to raising awareness and funding for the PPP3CA HOPE FOUNDATION, which supports research into the rare disease PPP3CA that affects children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including drug-resistant epilepsy.
Choose between a 1 Mile Walk or a 5K Run/Walk, and enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere filled with fun activities. Registration opens at 8:00 AM, with the race kicking off at 9:00 AM. Participants will be treated to a free pancake bar, refreshing beverages from Chaos Coffee Truck, and engaging activities for kids like face painting and bubbles. Plus, this year we’re doubling the awards for our 5K participants, celebrating the achievements across various age categories and recognizing the bravest runners. With a registration fee of only $20 (with an optional $20 for a Race for Rare logo T-shirt and swag bag), your participation will help make a difference in the lives of families affected by PPP3CA. Please join us for our 3RD ANNUAL RACE FOR RARE 5K RUN/WALK campaign held at _Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas_! This race benefits the PPP3CA HOPE FOUNDATION, a parent-led _501(c)(3) nonprofit _dedicated to advancing research for PPP3CA rare disease. Proceeds help fund critical research, advance collaboration, raise awareness, and support families affected by PPP3CA.
Complete a 1 Mile Walk or a 5K Run/Walk while helping children with PPP3CA that causes NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES including DRUG-RESISTANT EPILEPSY.
Not a runner? No problem! Come for the coffee, stay for breakfast, raffles, and to learn about PPP3CA!
On August 23rd, run, walk, or simply show up to visit with us at 9AM! REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN AT 8:00AM.
This is a FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT! We will have a free pancake bar and water along with Chaos Coffee Truck on-site to purchase your favorite morning drink. For kiddos, we will have bubbles, wristbands, face-paint and participant medals!
Registration costs $20 this year, with an optional add-on ($20) for this years Race for Rare Logo Tshirt + Swag Bag
This year, we will have 2x the amount of awards to hand out!
We will be awarding WINNER MEDALS the following categories for those that complete the 5K Run:
