Join us for the 44th Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Run on Thursday, December 31, 2026, in East Grand Rapids, Kent! This beloved New Year's Eve tradition invites runners and walkers alike to participate in a spirited 4-mile USATF certified course that loops around the scenic Reeds Lake. The main race kicks off at 2:00 PM, starting near East Grand Rapids Middle School and finishing at Collins Park. For the younger participants, the Kids Race begins at 1:30 PM, offering a fun 1/2 mile course for children aged 12 and under, complete with disco-ball medals waiting at the finish line.
Since its inception in 1982, the Resolution Run has been more than just a race; it’s a cherished moment to reflect on the past year and embrace the new one with intention. Rain or shine, this community event brings together runners of all backgrounds to celebrate the spirit of giving back, with proceeds supporting Guiding Light Works. December 31, 2026 marks the 44th Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Runa New Years Eve tradition in East Grand Rapids. This 4-mile course around Reeds Lake is USATF certified, giving runners and walkers a fast, accurate loop to close out 2026.
The main race begins at 2:00 PM, starting near East Grand Rapids Middle School and finishing in front of Collins Park.
The Kids Race returns at 1:30 PM for ages 12 and under, with their own course and disco-ball medals waiting at the finish.
Since 1982, when Joe OBrien first gathered runners for this end-of-year tradition, the Resolution Run has been more than a race. Its a moment to show up, take stock, and head into a new year with intention. Year after year, runners and walkers come outno matter the weatherto keep it going.
Well do it again in 2026, and continue Joes legacy of giving back by supporting Guiding Light Works.
