Greening Up the Mountains 5k

Get ready for a fantastic day of fun and fitness at the Greening Up the Mountains 5K, taking place on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, in the picturesque town of Sylva, North Carolina! Join fellow runners at Mark Watson Park for an exciting event that kicks off with registration at 8:00 AM, followed by the race start at 9:00 AM. This scenic 5K course will take you through the charming streets of Sylva, crossing Business 23 and looping into Monteith Park, making for a delightful running experience on relatively flat terrain with both paved and graveled sections.

This annual race not only promotes health and wellness but also supports the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department, ensuring that your participation contributes to the community! With awards for the top three male and female finishers in various age groups, from 10 and under to 80+, there's plenty of motivation to put your best foot forward. Plus, the first 150 participants to register will receive a guaranteed race shirt.
