Choose from a leisurely 12-mile Family Ride or challenge yourself with the iconic Double Metric Century at 133 miles.
Riders can enjoy the scenic beauty of rural Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb counties, with routes winding through picturesque cornfields and shaded roadways. This year, participants also have the unique option to create their own ride by combining various colored loops. The event ensures a top-notch experience with a fully supported ride, including a centralized rest stop equipped with air conditioning and nutritious snacks, as well as on-site mechanical support and roaming SAG patrol vehicles. With the goal of welcoming 1,000 riders and over 75 enthusiastic volunteers, the Swedish Days Ride not only promises a fantastic day but also supports local biking organizations and charities. The Swedish Days Ride is the premier cycling event in Northern Illinois and the signature event of the Fox Valley Bicycle & Ski Club (FVBSC). Now in its 55th year, the Swedish Days Ride travels the quiet, scenic and relatively flat paved roads of rural Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties, meandering through cornfields and through shaded thoroughfares.
The Swedish Days Ride offers six routes ranging from our NEW FAMILY RIDE (12 miles) to the iconic Double Metric Century (133 miles), providing a just right distance for cycling families to competitive athletes. This year you can also create your own ride by combining colored loops.
The ride is fully supported with one centralized rest stop boasting AC/indoor facilities stocked with nutritional items, onsite morning emergency mechanical support and bicycle supplies, and roaming SAG patrol vehicles. With over 75 helpful volunteers, the Swedish Days Ride provides a superior riding experience to our goal of 1000 guests this year.
FVBSC donates all of the proceeds from this event to support organizations promoting safe cycling, education, advocacy, infrastructure development and cycling for people with disabilities, such as the Ride Illinois, Rails to Trails, Project Mobility, Easter Seals (bikes for kids) and ARES. Our event has no affiliation with the Geneva Chamber of Commerces Swedish Days Festival.
