Join us for the 7th Annual ReDiscover YOUR Light 5K Run+Walk, taking place from November 3 to November 9, 2024, in the beautiful Miramar, Broward! This vibrant, family-friendly event aims to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and exploitation, empowering our youth and community. Over the past six years, more than 800 participants from 34 states and 3 counties have come together to support this important cause, and we’re excited to continue this tradition.
The event features both a hybrid race model, allowing participants to join virtually anytime from November 3rd to November 9th, or in person at Miramar Regional Park on November 9th, with registration opening at 6 AM and the race kicking off at 7 AM. Whether you choose to run or walk the 3.1 miles on your own route or join us at the park, your participation will help raise vital awareness and create a safer environment for youth. For the past six years over 800 people across 34 states and 3 counties have shown overwhelming support for the ReDiscover YOUR Light 5K Run+Walk. At The Starr Institute (TSI), we educate, engage, and empower youth and the community about child sexual abuse and exploitation. The ReDiscover YOUR Light 5K Run+Walk is a family-friendly event providing a safe space for young people, families, community members, business owners, professionals, and youth-serving organizations to mobilize and highlight this issue in their communities. Since 2020 TSI has embraced the power of the pivot and incorporated a hybrid race model. Were happy to continue offering a virtual race week (November 3 9, 2024) and welcome runners/walkers to our in-person event at Miramar Regional Park on November 9, 2024! We couldnt be more thrilled to put Prevention in Motion. Our goal is to have participants register in all 50 states. Will you lace up to help us create a world where youth receive the care, support, and skills they need to thrive?!
If you participate virtually, you can run/walk 3.1 miles anywhere that works for you. Select a race route and run/walk your 5K anytime from Sunday, November 3rd, through Saturday, November 9th.
THE IN-PERSON EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT MIRAMAR REGIONAL PARK ON NOVEMBER 9, 2024. REGISTRATION OPENS AT 6 AM, THE RACE BEGINS AT 7 AM.
PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER BY 10/17/24 TO RECEIVE A GUARANTEED RACE SHIRT. THE FIRST 100 IN-PERSON FINISHERS WILL RECEIVE A MEDAL.
