The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove is thrilled to announce that we have officially added a 10K to our annual animal-rescue fundraiser!

Please join us on Saturday, February 20, 2027, for the:

7th Annual SGC CCT Furry Scurry 5K10K Walk/Run
This fun-filled, family-friendly, and dog-friendly event welcomes participants of all ages for a morning of fitness, friendship, community spirit, and support for animals in need. red heart

Whether you are an experienced runner, a casual walker, a rescue parent, or simply an animal lover looking for a fun way to make a difference, there is an event for you!

For dogs and their walkers who feel the full 3.1-mile course may be a little too much for their pups, our special 1.5-Mile Mutt Strut is the perfect option!

The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove, Inc., also known as CCT, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and improving our community.

We are proud to organize this professionally chip-timed event to benefit local animal shelters, rescues, and animal-service organizations. Proceeds from the Furry Scurry will be donated to organizations including:

Englewood Animal Rescue Sanctuary, also known as EARS
Suncoast Humane Society of Englewood
German Shepherd Rescue in Punta Gorda
Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida
Ruck 9
Rescue Garage
Peace River K9 Search and Rescue

Every registration, sponsorship, donation, and raffle ticket helps these wonderful organizations continue their lifesaving work. Together, we can make a differenceone paw at a time! red heart

Stay for the After-Race Celebration!
The fun does not end at the finish line!

After the races, we invite everyone to stay and celebrate with us. We will be grilling complimentary hot dogs and serving refreshments and brews for our participants.

We will also have:

Exciting raffles
Silent-auction prizes
Animal shelters and rescue organizations
Community vendors and sponsors
Plenty of fun for the entire family

Please remember to bring some extra cash so you can participate in the raffles and silent auctions while supporting a great cause!

Race-Day Schedule
10K runners: Start promptly at 7:45 a.m.

5K runners: Start at approximately 8:00 a.m.

5K walkers: Begin after the 5K runners and walkers clear the corral.

1.5-Mile Mutt Strut walkers: Participants will gather in a designated corral near the driveway and begin after the 5K walkers have cleared the start and finish area.

Please keep in mind that runners will be on the course throughout the morning. We encourage everyone to arrive early to allow plenty of time for parking and packet pickup.

Our CERT team will be available to assist with parking.

A special gathering area will be provided for all Mutt Strut participants before their walk begins.

5K and 10K Event Information
Registration for the chip-timed 5K and 10K includes:

Official race T-shirt
stopwatch Custom chip-timed race bib
Participation medal
Eligibility for overall and age-group awards

The top three male and female finishers in each eligible category will receive an award.

Overall Award Categories
Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers in the following categories:

Overall
Masters: Age 40 and older
Grandmasters: Age 50 and older
Senior Grandmasters: Age 60 and older
Veteran Grandmasters: Age 70 and older

Awards will also be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:

9 and under, 1012, 1315, 1619, 2024, 2529, 3034, 3539, 4044, 4549, 5054, 5559, 6064, 6569, 7074, 7579, and 80 and older.

1.5-Mile Mutt Strut
Mutt Strut registration includes an official race T-shirt and finisher medal.

Running Club and Youth Discount
Members of participating running clubs and children under the age of 18 will receive $5 off their 5K or 10K registration.

Virtual Race Option $40
Cannot join us in person? You can still participate and support the animals!

Our virtual event may be completed at your own pace, at a time and location that works best for you. Every registered virtual participant will receive an official race T-shirt and finisher medal by mail.

Because this race is a nonprofit fundraiser benefiting local animal organizations, all registrations are nonrefundable. Thank you for your understanding and support.
