Join us on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Fayetteville, Cumberland for the 3rd Annual 9/11 Run to Remember 5K, a heartfelt event organized by the 82nd Airborne Division Association. This uplifting occasion honors the lives lost and the heroes of September 11, 2001, and encourages participants to run, ruck, or walk along the beautiful Longleaf Pine Trail. This year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in memory of Peter J. Ganci, Jr., a brave former paratrooper and FDNY chief who made the ultimate sacrifice on that fateful day.
Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a casual walker, this untimed 5K welcomes everyone to take part in a meaningful tribute. Participants who register by August 20, 2026, will receive a complimentary T-shirt, and all entrants will be given a race bib to commemorate the day. Plus, medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, adding a competitive spirit to this memorable event. The 82nd Airborne Division Association invites you to join us for our 3rd Annual 9-11 Run to Remember 5K (Run, Ruck, or Walk). We honor and remember the lives lost and the heroes of September 11th, 2001. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honor of former 82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper and Chief of Department Peter J. Ganci, Jr., FDNY, who gave his life on 9/11.
* The 5k route will be an out-and-back on the Longleaf Pine Trail.
* This event will not be timed.
* Registered entrants will receive a free T-shirt if registered by 20 August 2026, and all participants will receive a race bib.
