Hello everybody.
I am Gabriel and I am proud and happy to introduce to you my very first 5 K run/ walk. This race was inspired by the struggles that mother faced with a horrific disease called diabetes . My mother was an amazing woman who had taken care of herself and health the best way that she could while she was living with this disease. However, sadly she died last year August of 2024 due to diabetic complications . This was very traumatic for our family .
Ive personally seen how hard it was for my mother to be able to afford her diabetic medicine when she really needed it , even with the insurance that she had . Having to pay for medicine while Paying bills and taking care of other house hold necessities can all be a lot to anybody. What a lot of people dont know is that unfortunately, whatever insurance wont pay most have to pay a remaining balance out of pocket. So , when I think about what she went through with this disease, and I think about how many other people are dealing with the same issues as she was . It makes me want to be a voice and lend encouragement to those who dont truly understand that health is really wealth .
I want to thank you for being apart of this amazing event , lets walk , run , grow and get fit together .

Gabriel is such a sweet spirit. So happy that I was able to meet her in person and support this awesome cause in honor of her mom. This 5K event was sooooo much fun, can’t wait until the next event. I invited extra people to come out and support because the more the merrier. Excellent job bringing everyone together. Please keep me posted on the next event.
