Sommer Sports Recycle Run where in celebration of Earth Day, we recycle past medals and shirts from previous Sommer Sports Events into a new event. Athletes will be able to select their shirt and medal from dozens of previous held events, Both the 5 Mile and 2 Mile run/walks are out and back along the lake on the South Lake Trail. Challenge yourself to the Lake Minneola 7 Mile Challenge and run both the 2 mile and 5 mile events, earning yourself two shirts and three medals.
After 41 years and hundreds of races, Sommer Sports has accumulated a mountain of leftover medals, shirts, and awards. In celebration of Earth Day, we decided to recycle some of this swag by transforming our Earth Day Run into Sommer Sports Recycle Run. To help you recycle some cash, we've also reduced the entry fees for the event! Recycle Run participants will now be able to select their race shirt from more than a dozen different events, and their race medal from dozens more. 7 Mile Challenge participants will be able to select two shirts and three medals. Recycled awards from previous races will be awarded for both the 2 Mile and 5 Mile events. After the race you can enjoy the great post race party you expect from Sommer Sports Events.

Run both the 2 Mile Run (7:15am) and the 5 Mile Run (7:45am) and receive a third bonus medal. Please note you must sign-up for both the 2 Mile and 5 Mile runs at the same time via the Seven Mile Challenge Bundle in order to be eligible for the third bonus medal. Also note that the Seven Mile Challenge bundle includes three medals and two shirts. Take notice of the start time of both races to make sure you are able to complete the 2 mile run before the start of the 5 mile run at 7:45am. -
