Organiser's Description
AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE ASSOCIATION (AIHA)
The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), founded in 1939, is an organization serving
industrial hygienists who anticipate health and safety concerns, design solutions to prevent them,
and serve as the guardians of workplace safety by applying science to identify and solve health
and safety problems. Industrial hygienists also unite management, workers, and all segments of a
company behind the common goal of health and safety.
The American Industrial Hygiene Foundation (AIHF) is the philanthropic arm of the
association. The mission of the AIHF is to advance the profession by awarding scholarships for
students in industrial hygiene and related disciplines, and funding training/professional
development opportunities for industrial hygienists in the first 15 years of their professional
