Join us for the exhilarating Albert Rivera Menudo Run on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, in beautiful South El Monte, Los Angeles! Celebrating over 40 years of community spirit, this fantastic event invites athletes of all levels, families, and friends to participate in an unforgettable day of running and fun at Whittier Narrows "Legg Lake" Park.
Runners can choose from several exciting distances: a competitive 5K and 10K, along with a Fun Run and Kiddy Run to keep the whole family engaged. With medals awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age division for both the 5K and 10K, there's plenty of opportunity to shine! Plus, the top three teams in the team race will take home trophies. After the races, all participants will enjoy a delicious bowl of menudo, with those 21 and over treated to a complimentary beer (don’t forget your ID!). Mark your calendars for a day filled with fitness, fun, and community camaraderie at the Albert Rivera Menudo Run!

Organiser's Description
For over 40 years, the Al Rivera Menudo Run 5K/10K has reached athletes, novices, family, friends, and community members. This event historically begins on a beautiful August morning at Whittier Narrows "Legg Lake" Park. This years event will feature a 5k Run, 10k Run, Fun Run, Kiddy Run and a Team Race!
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in both the 5k and 10k in each of the following age divisions: 0-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+. *There are no awards for the Fun Run or Kiddy Run*
