WELCOME TO THE 2026 ALMOND BLOSSOM RUN!!

Durham Sports Boosters is excited to announce that the 44th annual Almond Blossom Run will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026!

Please join us in Durham for a beautiful Sunday morning run around the almond orchards with the trees in full bloom to see how special this race really is! As in past years, this event will include a 5K and 10K run with chip timing provided by Under the Sun Events.

For our 2026 race, you have three options to enjoy our event:

* A LIVE, IN-PERSON EVENT WITH WAVES EVERY 5 MINUTES BASED ON YOUR REGISTRATION LEVEL
* A VIRTUAL EVENT ON OUR OFFICIAL COURSE AT YOUR CONVENIENCE-IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENTER THE RESULTS FOR YOUR RUN, PLEASE DO SO THE MORNING OF THE FEB. 22ND BY 9AM
* A VIRTUAL, MAKE-YOUR-OWN COURSE-IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENTER THE RESULTS FOR YOUR RUN, PLEASE DO SO THE MORNING OF THE FEB. 22ND BY 9AM

In-person participants (with data submitted via RunJoy, etc.) are eligible for top male and female finisher awards. Winners in both the 5K and 10K events will receive a gift certificate for a pair of running shoes from Fleet Feet in Chico. Medals will be awarded to the top finishers for each age division as well. Participants in the virtual event will receive instructions on how to submit virtual times, but will not be eligible for prizes.

Registration for in-person and virtual race is just $45 (with $1.85 convenience fee). Participants may choose from a long-sleeved, technical or short-sleeved, poly-cotton blend shirt upon registration, but be sure to register early-limited sizes and styles have been pre-ordered, so be sure to register early. Please note: For those participating in the virtual make-your-own course race, there will be a $10 shipping fee for those wanting a shirt.

Sponsors are a critical partner in this event and allow us to continue our financial support of our athletic programs in Durham. Proceeds from the 2026 run will benefit student athletic teams at both Durham Intermediate School and Durham High School. Durham Sports Boosters is currently seeking funds to update the scoreboard and PA systems and the DHS Coliseum, upgrade equipment for boys and girls teams at both DHS and DIS, and implement improvements to the high school gym trophy cases. Thanks to our racers and generous sponsors, over $35,000 was spent in 2025 on our many athletic programs. We were able to purchase updated uniforms for DHS Cheer, Volleyball, Ski/Snowboard, and DIS basketball, equipment for Softball, Golf, Track and Field, and the Swim Team. Durham Sports Boosters also collaborated with Durham Park & Recreation to update the pool cover, and with the Durham Gala and Durham Volunteer Firefighters to purchase two new scoreboards for the DHS Gym.
