Organiser's Description
Spend a week training with some of the best runners and coaches in Chester County at a variety of locations. We'll post those locations soon.. It's a great way to get ready for the start of your season.
Parents will be responsible for that their children are not showing any symptoms of COVID 19. Please let us know if your son or daughter shows symptoms after camp begins. We will require that the athletes where a mask to camp, while we talk and after we finish running each day. They will not be expected to run in a mask.
Bring their own water bottle with them. Please do not share water bottles.
Camp will go from 7:00-9:30AM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Thursday's camp will be in the evening at Henderson at the West Chester Mile. That camp will run from Monday, August 8-Friday, August 12.
We will limit the this camp to those who are in 3rd grade and up.. Campers should be able to run at least a mile without stopping.
The Thursday of Camp will be the West Chester Mile held in the evening on Henderson's super fast track. Details will follow. Entry into the mile will be included in the camp fee.
Each day schedule will feature a great run from the location. We will do a lot of trail running. You'll have the opportunity to run with some of the best high school runners in Chester County. Each runner will be assigned a group based on their current fitness level and ability. Before the run each day, Coaches Kelly and Burns will discuss various areas of cross country running and things you can do to improve. Our experienced counselors will add to the discussion. We will also have some outstanding speakers as usual.
Daily Camp Locations:
Monday-Downingtown West HS at the track.
Tuesday-Henderson High School at the Track..\
Wednesday- Oakbourne Park in Westtown Township.
Thursday-at Henderson for the WC Mile in the evening.
Friday-Henderson High School-Pancake breakfast to follow the run that morning.
Saturday-645 at Stroud Preserve for high school athletes only.
This year's Speakers(so far)-Gary Martin, Bill Coren(long time Strath Haven Coach), Bob Schwelm(owner of the Bryn Mawr Running Company), Ed Brttingham.
Past speakers have included Matt Centrowitz, Leo Manzano, Ajee Wilson, Kyle Merber, Johnny Gregorek, Francis "Gags" Gagliano, Tom Donnelly, Vince Touey, Josh Hoey, Pat Castagno, Rob Hewitt and many other local and national caliber coaches and athletes.
