This fun-filled event kicks off at Avonworth Middle School, where the spirited 8th grade class will take the lead, planning every detail under the guidance of their dedicated Civics Teacher and Cross Country Coaches. Participants can choose to either race the scenic 5k course or enjoy a leisurely one-mile walk, all while supporting a great cause—the Hannah Milbert Memorial Fund.
With a low entry fee of just $20 until April 1st (increasing to $25 thereafter), you won’t want to miss this opportunity to join the community in a healthy and uplifting environment. The race starts and ends on the high school track, featuring a mostly flat route that winds through the charming Avonworth neighborhoods. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. on race day at Lenzner Field, where you can also pick up your race packet. Join us for the Seventh Annual "Chase the Antelopes 5k & One-Mile Walk". This event will take place at Avonworth Middle School, home of the Antelopes! The 8th grade class will be organizing this event from start to finish, under the direction of their Civics Teacher and Cross Country Coaches. Students will be designing the t-shirt, creating unique medals and awards in their Technology Education classes, and contacting local businesses for sponsorship and donations. All proceeds will benefit the Hannah Milbert Memorial Fund.
