Join us for the exciting Back the Blue K-9 1 Mile Run/Walk on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the vibrant downtown of Pickens! This much-anticipated event, now in its fourth year, welcomes both runners and walkers, as well as those who want to participate alongside their furry friends. With an engaging atmosphere and a sense of community, the race will kick off in front of the 1st Baptist Church and finish at The Open Door, making it a fun outing for everyone involved.
Participants can look forward to awards for the top three male and female runners, as well as the top five runners with dogs, regardless of gender. A special recognition will also be given to the first First Responder crossing the finish line in uniform. Age group awards will be distributed at 10-year intervals, and every participant will receive a finisher medal! Don't forget to bring your well-behaved dog to join in the festivities. Enjoy live music from The Jaguar 4 and support a great cause, as all proceeds will benefit The Hiding Place. Be sure to register by September 1st to guarantee your event tee shirt, and join us for a memorable day filled with fun, fitness, and community spirit

Organiser's Description
We are back for the fourth year for this race/walk. There will be 2 categories, runners/walkers and runners/walkers with dogs. Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners and the top five runners with dogs regardless of gender. A special award will be given to the 1st First Responder to cross the line in uniform. Age group awards will be given out at 10 year intervals. All participants will receive a finisher medal. It is a dog friendly event for a good cause and should not be missed. Feel free to bring your well behaved dog with you.
